H.E Ambassador Johnson Agara Olwa, Ambassador of Uganda in the Russian Federation lures EcoNivaAgro to invest in Uganda .

The Ambassador visited the farm while he was in Voronezh Region in Russia for official visit.   

EkoNivaAgro was established in March 2002. The main area of activity is dairy farming; however, the enterprise is also engaged in growing cereal, pulse, fodder, profitable industrial crops as well as seed production.

EkoNivaAgro operates on the territory of Liski, Kamenka, Bobrov, Kashira, Anna, Buturlinovka and Talovo districts of Voronezh oblast. The total agricultural land area is 147,000 ha.

The enterprise is the largest milk producer in Voronezh oblast -1,314 tonnes of milk per day. The total herd size is 86,000 head of cattle, of which 44,000 are dairy ?ows (as per 16 .07.21)
Currently, there are 28 livestock farming subdivisions operating within the enterprise, including 17 high-tech free-stall dairy facilities. The enterprise is a stock-breeding plant for Holstein and Simmental breeds and a breeding reproducer of Red-and-White breed.

EkoNivaAgro implements a cow-calf project. Male calves are kept on the pasture until they are 6-7 months old, further, they are sold to beef finishing enterprises. In total, EkoNivaAgro has 800 head of beef cattle (as per 16.07.2021). In 2020, the company sold 96 tonnes of meat (live weight).

The Ambassador thanked the team at EcoNivaAgro for the warm welcome and informed them that Uganda's economy is agricultural and that Uganda  produces a lot of milk too. However, there is need for friends like EcoNivaAgro who have the knowhow and technology to consider establishing business in Uganda. He informed them that Uganda already has several diary factories but there is still opportunity to invest.
