Voronezh State Agricultural University ready to escalate relations with Uganda 

H.E Johnson Agara Olwa , the Ambassador of Uganda in the Russian Federation visited Voronezh State Agricultural University to discuss and initiation cooperation between the University and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries  of Uganda.

The University  is already collaborating  with Mountain of the Moon University in Uganda and is open to strengthen relations .

The Ambassador called for escalation of relations  and proposed that the University considers cooperating with the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries  of Uganda through its Research Institutions under National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) in joint research. 

The Voronezh State Agrarian University named after Emperor Peter the Great (Voronezh SAU) was founded in 1912 as a monument to the contribution of Peter the Great to the Voronezh region.

It's the first higher institution in the Central Black Earth Region and one of the oldest agricultural university in Russia. Its creation was the beginning of the formation of an agricultural educational system in Russia which currently includes 54 universities.
According to the results of the rating of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia the Voronezh SAU is among the leading agricultural universities, besides it occupies 4-8 positions in many other national independent ratings.

The university carries out educational activities in 267 programs at the level of higher education (19 directions of undergraduate degree, 3 specialties, 18 directions of postgraduate degree) and secondary vocational education (3 specialties).

More than 500 academic staff (420 of them have scientific titles and degrees,106 Doctors, Professors) work at 7 faculties, 32 Departments and the Department of secondary vocational education. More than 13 thousand students' study at the university.

Its structure includes educational-research-technological center "Agrotechnology"(120 hectares of experimental fields, a pomological garden), Botanical Garden, School of Training Refresher Courses, Research Centers, an Exhibition Complex with Techno-park, a network of 24 centers for access to information resources, 45 basic schools and 38 basic departments. Additionally, Voronezh SAU has more than 330 industrial partners.

The university has got 5 Dissertation Councils for the defence of PhD thesises, 5 periodical Research Journals.
