The meeting was purposed to strengthen cooperation between Uganda and Russia in the Education sector. 

The Medical University is one of the best in the Russian Federation and is ready to cooperate with Uganda  by signing a memorandum of Understating with one of the universities in Uganda . This will facilitate joint projects in research , student and lecture exchanges among others.

The Government of the Russian Federation offers scholarships annually to Ugandan citizens to study in Russia.

Smolensk State Medical University is ready to admit Ugandans wishing to study in Smolensk State Medical University on Private sponsorship as well.
