The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Moscow celebrated the 59th Independence Day on Monday, 11th October 2021.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among was the Chief Guest at the event. She was joined by six other visiting Members of Parliament and officials of the Parliament of Uganda. Following the celebrations, the visiting delegation attended the Third Eurasian Women's Forum in St Petersburg which took place from 13th to 15th October, 2021.

The visit of this high-powered delegation is yet a demonstration of the warm and friendly relations between Uganda and Russia. The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1962 a few days after Uganda gained her Independence.

Since then, bilateral relations have developed based on mutual respect and mutually beneficial economic cooperation. The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda  in Moscow is committed to further strengthening of the cooperation between Uganda and the Russian Federation.
