Representatives of the Peoples Friendship
University in Russia (PFUR) will visit Uganda during the second week of
September 2015 to strengthen cooperation with public universities in
Uganda. This was revealed in a meeting between the PFUR delegation led by the
Advisor for International Relations, Mr.Vladimir Timoshek and Mr. Nelson
Ocheger of Uganda Embassy in Moscow. The meeting which took place at the Mission offices was attended by the
Third Secretary and Accounting Officer at the Embassy, Ms. Everlyn
Uganda Embassy Moscow put up a spectacular show to promote commercial
and cultural diplomacy during the maiden Afrofest Exhibition that took place in Dovo Park, St.
Petersburg, in the Russian Federation on June 13-14, 2015.
The President of UN General Assembly H.E. Sam Kutesa has advised that
Uganda should make loans affordable for the private sector to invest in
agriculture as a means of financing SDGs. Hon Kutesa was addressing a
high level Dialogue on Financing Sustainable Development Goals in Uganda
The Ugandan Embassy in Moscow has marked the African Day by cooking
Ugandan dishes which included pilawo, chapati, firinda and groundnut
paste mixed with smoked meat. The Mission staff also showcased some
Ugandan traditional wear.
Uganda and Russia have signed an Inter Governmental Commission on
Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. The ceremony was held at
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Hon Okello Oryem Ag. Minister of
Foreign Affairs signed on behalf of Uganda Government while H.E Alexey
Volin, the Vice Minister of Telecom and Mass Communication of the
Russian Federation signed on behalf Russian Government.
