The Head on Mission had a working visit to the Republic of Udmurtia on16th and 17 the of October 2023. The Ambassador held meetings with the Prime Minister of the Republic, the Minister of Trade and the Chamber of Commerce. Meeting with the Prime Minister
The Ambassador was received by Mr. Yaroslav Semenov the Prime Minister, accompanied by Madam. Olga Abramova, the firs Deputy Chairman of the Government, Mr. Sergey Yurin, the Minister of Trade. Ms. Gulnara Mannanova, Head of the Izhevsk branch of the Foreign Ministry, Ms. Svetlana Grechkina, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department and Mr. Dmitry Ryabov Advisor to the Head of the Udmurt republic. The Prime Minister informed the Ambassador of the Republics focus to establish new partnerships particularly in trade and Investment with Africa. He added that there were many opportunities for the African youths to take advantage of available industrial employment, well advanced education system in their Universities and colleges, innovation and technology equipment and other service sectors. The Ambassador appreciated the Prime Minister and his team for the hospitality accorded to him and his team. He informed the Prime Minister that Uganda was ready to deepen her relations with the Republic with a focus in tourism, investment and trade in Coffee, Cocoa and tea. He invited Udmurtia’s investors to invest in Uganda particularly in the fruit, milk and meat processing industry, Minerals and technology industry. He added that Uganda an investment in Uganda targets the other 500Million people in the East African and COMESA regions a very large and virgin market ready to buy the finished products. In addition, is the opportunity to export to the rest of the Africa, Middle East and Europe.
