AMB. MOSES K. KIZIGE VISITS THE TULA REGION FROM 6TH TO 9TH NOVEMBER 2023

The Head of Mission had a working visit to Tula Region from 6th and 9th of November 2023. The Ambassador was accompanied by Amb. Gideon Mwebaze Rutazindwa,
The Ambassador held meetings with Mr. Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, First Deputy Governor and Chairman of Tula Region, the Minister of Economics, the Minister of Trade and the Minister for Agriculture and members of the Chamber of Commerce.
He also visited Tula State University, the Kremlin, Tulskaya Poultry Farm, ServicesSoft Engineering LLC, Patriot park, Promet-SEZ LLC, Agrogrib LLC and the Tula State Arms Museum.
He also met with the Chairman of the Region and Ministers of the Government of Tula
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Economics, Agriculture, industry and fuel Energy complex director, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Heads of businesses
The Region has a vibrant industrial and Agricultural sector, plus Chemical Industry, Machinery, Biotechnology weaponry production. and composite materials and has a Special Economic Zone which provides services to investors like electricity, gas supply and water.
The Ambassador informed the meeting that Uganda was ready to deepen her cooperation with the Region with a focus in tourism, investment and trade in Coffee, Cocoa, fruits and tea and therefore His visit was timely so as the initiative from the Russia-Africa Summit to deepen cooperation with the Russian Federation. He therefore invited Tula investors to invest in Uganda particularly in the fruit, milk and meat processing industry, Minerals and technology industry.
He added that an investor in Uganda targets the 45Million Ugandan, over 500Million people in the East African and COMESA regions and the African Free Trade Area providing a very large and virgin market ready to buy the finished products. In addition, is the opportunity to export to the rest of the Africa, Middle East and Europe.
He further informed that, Uganda’s education system is producing more graduates than the available job, the country therefore has a very high level of unemployment among the youths an area in labour can be explored between Uganda and Tula Region. Uganda has students trained through the Tula State University.
