AMB.MOSES K. KIZIGE’S PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

On 15th September 2023, the Ambassador designate presented his credentials and the recall letters of his predecessor Amb. Johnson Agara Alwa to H.E. Maia Sandu the President of Moldova. The Ambassador was in company of Ms. Georgina Nakawombe, the first Secretary of the Embassy. After her welcoming remarks, Her Excellency the President informed the Ambassador on the relevance of the bilateral relations between states for the development of their people and for regional and international peace and security.
She sighted the effects of the Ukraine-Russian war that has continued to affect economy and security and particularly the neighboring countries. In his remarks, H.E. the Ambassador, conveyed warm greetings from H.E the President of Uganda and his condolence to Her Excellency and to the people of Moldova on the demise of Mr. Mircea Snegur, Moldova’s first President after independence from the Soviet Union who had passed away on the night of 14th September 2023. He appreciated the Moldavian Government for accepting Uganda students affected by the Ukraine-Russian war into their education institutions after the outbreak of the Ukraine-Russian war. He added that Uganda too was ready to strengthen her bilateral relations with Moldova so as to enhance trade and investment levels between both capitals. The Ambassador further informed the President that he was scheduled to be meeting the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Moldova so as to develop strategies of enhancing trade and investment between Uganda and Moldova. He also informed the Her Excellency that Uganda has large quantities of phosphates, used in the manufacturing of fertilizers. He therefore invited Moldova investors to invest in Uganda and particularly in the fertilizers industry. He similarly invited Moldova tourists to enjoy Uganda’s tourism potential, her good and favorable weather and her flora and fauna not seen anywhere. Her Excellency was pleased to learn about the Ambassador’s meeting with the President of Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce, guaranteeing her Government’s
support to Ugandan exporters to trade in Moldova and wished the Ambassador a fruitful term of service.
