THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA PARTICIPATES IN THE FIRST RUSSIA-AFRICA CONFERENCE IN SOCHI, RUSSIA.
The Ministerial Meeting which took place in Sochi on 9th – 10th November 2024, was the first at the level of Ministers, and was against the backdrop of two Summits of Heads of State of the Russia Africa Partnership Forum, held in October 2019 in Sochi and July 2023 in St. Petersburg.
Hon.Gen. Abubaker Jeje Odongo the Minister of Foreign Affairs led the Ugandan delegation. The Minister was accompanied by Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero Masanza, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation; Hon. Gen. Wilson Mbadi Mbasu, Minister of State for Trade, Amb. Moses Kizige, Uganda’s Ambassador to Russia as well as Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.
Hon. Odongo Jeje expressed gratitude to the Russian Minister for meeting him, and said Uganda was very satisfied with the level of relations with Russia. He extended greetings from President Yoweri Museveni to President Vladimir Putin. Minister congratulated Russia for hosting the BRICS meeting in Kazan and now hosting the Russia-Africa Ministerial meeting
