His Excellency Moses Kizige, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the Russian Federation is in Kirov Region for a two day official visit .
He has met Mr Alexander Sokolov, the Governor of Kirov Region, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kirov Region, representatives of companies that are interested in doing business with Uganda and the Rector of Kirov State Medical University and representatives of two other Universities that are interested in enrolling Ugandan students and cooperating with Ugandan Universities.
Issues of mutual interest were discussed with the bid to strengthen relations in the areas of trade, tourism, education and investment.
The Ambassador also met the two Ugandan students that are studying in Kirov .
Russia has increased the quota of scholarships that it offers Uganda from 20 to 50 for the next academic year
However, there are several other scholarships that educational institutions render Uganda directly. This year Alabuga Polytechnic offered Uganda five scholarships and are open to enrolling more.
The delegation also held talks with the leadership of Kirovo-Chepetsk plant "Agrochemical" which produces fertilizer and pesticides.
"Uganda needs quality pesticides and fertilizer to improve production" Said Ambassador Kizige
A sightseeing tour of the main production facilities of the enterprise, warehouses and laboratory of the plant was organized for the delegation and the entire range of products were presented
During the meeting, the main areas for cooperation were identified. The possibility of a business visit of representatives of Agrohimikat to Uganda in the near future was also discussed.
The delegation also visited visited the branch of "KCHK" JSC "UCC "Uralchem" a mineral fertilizer plant. The leadership of the plant expressed interest in trading with Uganda.
Several companies that are members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kirov have expressed interest in trading and investing in Uganda.

It's time to strengthen the friendship further through trade, investment, tourism and education " Said Ambassador Kizige
