AMB. MOSES K. KIZIGE OFFICIATES AT THE 18TH INTER-REGIONAL FORUM AT TULA STATE UNIVERISTY ON 24TH NOVEMBER 2023
Tula State University was founded in 1930 and offers its international candidates a wide range of educational programs in engineering, civil engineering, computer science, natural sciences, economic, law, humanities, and medical fields. Those who don’t speak Russian are offered to take a pre-university course of Russian which is provided.
The University has over187 foreign students from 22 countries of Africa and others from 70 countries around the world.
Uganda has had over 30 Students trained in different fields in the University with currently having two Ugandan students called Grace Megan Nalubega and Gladys Lanyero both studying in the Medical fields on Russian Government scholarships.
During the festival, students from different countries presented their traditional dances, playing musical instruments, songs and poetry. Uganda Students performed a Kiganda and an Acholi dance, other six (6) Universities in the Russian Federation also gave presentations.
In his opening remarks, H.E the Ambassador thanked the rector Dr. Kravchenko Oleg Alexandrovich and his team for the invitation and for organizing such events where students are able to showcase their cultures. He noted that such forum helps to appreciate that culture, science, and education experiences while in the Russian Federation.
The Ambassador encouraged the students to work hard, enjoy the new experiences, knowledge and atmosphere and also use such platforms to establish event deeper relations amongst themselves.
He stressed the need for the students to adhere to the University rules and regulations, concentrate on their studies, take advantage of the available resource for the betterment of their lives and also enjoy their University years, while in the Russian federation and while back to their respective countries.
