THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA PARTICIPATES IN THE FIRST RUSSIA-AFRICA CONFERENCE IN SOCHI, RUSSIA.

The Ministerial Meeting which took place in Sochi on 9th – 10th November 2024, was the first at the level of Ministers, and was against the backdrop of two Summits of Heads of State of the Russia Africa Partnership Forum, held in October 2019 in Sochi and July 2023 in St. Petersburg.

H.E. Moses K. Kizige the Ambassador designate to the Republic of Uzbekistan Presented Credentials to H.E. Bakhtiyor Odilovich Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

On 16th October 2024, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uganda presented his copies of the Credentials to H.E. Bakhtiyor Odilovich Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Minister congratulated and welcomed the Ambassador and his delegation to Tashkent, He informed him that the Ambassador was the first Ugandan Ambassador to be accredited to Uzbekistan a great milestone to cement the bilateral relations between both States.

BILATERAL MEETING BETWEEN H.E. JESICA ROSE EPEL ALUPO, THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE PREPUBLIC OF UGANDA AND H.E. VALENTINA MATVIENKO, CHAIRPERSON OF THE FEDERATION COUNCIL OF THE FEDERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION.

The meeting was a sideline meeting during the 4th Eurasian Women Forum that was held between 18th to 20th September 2024 in St.Petersburg, Russia.

During discussions, H.E. Alupo conveyed warm greetings from H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Government and the people of Uganda. She appreciated the Eurasian Women’s forum for the platform through which women and many pertinent issues are being discussed

Ugandan Artists Paul Akiiki and Samuel Kakaire exhibit their art in Moscow.

Ugandan Artists Paul Akiiki and Samuel Kakaire are exhibiting their art in Moscow. Samuel Kakaire is a Russian trained artist who last visited Russia in 1989. The duo are holding a sole art exhibition in Moscow for the first time Uganda under the theme ‘bridging cultural gaps between Uganda and Russian through art’. The artists have received tremendous recognition for their beautiful and creative art work here. The art exhibition is to run up to 12th July 2024
